My client is largest independent OE Aftermarket Supplier of engine and transmission remanufacturing IN THE WORLD. And we are growing. State of the art equipment, elegant engineering practices, and smart business decisions allows my company to reduce waste and lower cost to our clients. We pursue growth industries globally and need to add depth to our growing staff.
SUMMARY
Responsible for researching and developing new products that the Company can add to their remanufacturing processes. Frequently engages manufacturing and program engineering as well as support teams to develop new product launches to expand program offerings. Will effectively represent the company in all customer interactions; building lasting relationships though trust, results, and superior communication.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Present new products to manufacturing for future launches through development of BOM, Engineering specifications, Components, and Suppliers.
Research common failure modes within new product to develop understanding of component attrition.
Collaborate with supplier quality team to certify new suppliers’ processes (PPAP).
Participates with Materials and Supplier Quality departments in Supplier Development activities.
Create processes and improvements that will train internal resources to adapt to customer systems; including revisions, BOM updates, change orders, and other customer notifications that will require internal updates. Develop presentations to illustrate progress to stakeholders.
Demonstrate clear and effective communication in all aspects of work. Understand the communication system that works best for the situation, and consistently keep key stakeholders informed.
Demonstrate safety awareness in all aspects of daily management and performance improvement. Understand how to advance our culture of safety, integrating safety improvements whenever practical and applicable.
Ability to work professionally with internal and external customers to integrate new business, reduce costs, and represent organization at multiple customer engagements.
High sense of urgency and self-direction with the ability to organize and execute complex engineering and process improvement tasks in a team environment.
Hands-on approach to problem solving and working with teams; practical knowledge of the people, process, and desired outcomes on respective process.
Superior communication, follow-up, and follow-through in all aspects of daily activities.

Must have experience bringing new products to market through customer collaboration.

Knowledge base related to the automotive industry with specific focus on powertrain systems.
Commitment to build and advance strong customer relationships.
Powertrain and Drivetrain experience is a plus – engine experience is preferred
QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, or physical science discipline and 7-10 years of proven experience integrating new products.
A thorough understanding of the operational theory and components of automatic transmissions and internal combustion engines.
High level of analytical ability required, where problems are unusual, complex, and difficult.
7 years of experience prioritizing tasks, and accurately estimate the time and costs required for project completion.
